Why should I major in Poultry Science?
Poultry Science prepares students for positions of responsibility and leadership with technical and scientific knowledge in the industry’s vast aspects from production to distribution of meat and eggs. Students can choose between two concentrations—pre-professional concentration and industry concentration.
Poultry represents the largest agricultural employer in Arkansas, and the bulk of agriculture careers in Arkansas are with the allied with the poultry industry. Poultry Science is the only major at the University of Arkansas with a 100 percent placement rate after completion of a bachelors degree. Graduates are prepared for careers in many areas, such as breeding, genetics, production, disease, and more, as well as advancement into professional and graduate school.
