Spring 2024 Bumpers College Commencement Ceremonies Information
The Spring 2024 commencement ceremonies for the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, in Barnhill Arena, located between Stadium Drive and Razorback Road. The program will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m. Graduates must arrive no later than 3:15 p.m. to allow sufficient time to check in, find your seat, and get organized. Plan for traffic, parking, and the weather!
Can't be there in person? You can still watch the ceremony. Tune in at 3:30 p.m. graduation day to live stream it!
Please Note
- Graduates will receive an email from MarchingOrder containing their name card document to attend the ceremony which they will present at the south side ticket window to check in.
- Graduates will enter Barnhill Arena at the lower south entrance. Family and guests will enter through the upper south entrances.
- You will receive a walking card at check in with your row and seat assignment listed. Once you check in, proceed to your seat on the arena floor, there will be no processional.
- Keep your name card/seat assignment ticket with you at all times and present it to the person scanning the bar codes as you approach the stage to have your name announced.
- Do not leave any items at your initial seat. You may not be returning to the same seat after crossing the stage.
- Guests do not need tickets to attend and there is no limit to the number of guest you may have.
- No concession stands will be open during the ceremonies. Guests will be allowed to bring water into the arena.
- All ceremonies will be streamed live at https://www.youtube.com/user/UniversityArkansas for those who cannot attend.
Regalia
Graduation applicants are to order their regalia online or in-person at the University of Arkansas Bookstore. DO NOT WAIT UNITL THE LAST MINUTE! It may take up to four weeks to receive your order! If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact the bookstore at 479-575-3011 or CNesbitt@bncollege.com.
All degree candidates are to arrive to the ceremony dressed in their regalia.
Arrival and Entrances
The program will begin promptly at 4:00 p.m., so graduates must arrive no later than 3:15 p.m. to allow sufficient time to check in and get organized. Graduates check in at the lower south side ticket windows to enter Barnhill Arena at the lower south entrance. Your seat assignment will be found on your commencement name ticket you receive at check in, and you should proceed to that seat on the arena floor. Family and guests will enter through the north or upper south entrance. Please note: the doors of Barnhill Arena will open at approximately 3:00 p.m. Graduates must leave all personal belongings (handbags, umbrellas, jackets, etc.) with a family member or in a locked vehicle. There is no secure storage available. All individuals carrying bags (camera cases, purses, etc.) may be searched at the door. We recommend no one bring backpacks, large bags, or additional items that may delay entry into Barnhill Arena. Again, graduates must leave personal belongings with family and friends. You will not be returning to the exact seat you initially have so you cannot leave items there during the ceremony. Please wear attire with pockets for your cellphone or keys!
Name Card and Pronunciation of Your Name
Graduates who registered to attend the ceremony have received information regarding submitting their name and pronunciation to the MarchingOrder website. The email you receive from MarchingOrder is your check in ticket to receive your official name card at check in. Keep this name card with you to be scanned as you approach the stage.
Presentation of Degrees by Family
The Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences is pleased to try to accommodate family members who are University of Arkansas faculty members to participate in our Commencement exercises. Please contact Carmen Alessi in the Dean’s Office (AFLS E222) or 479-575-2034 as soon as possible, if you have a family member who is a U of A faculty member you would like to present your diploma at the commencement ceremony.
Pictures
Grad Images will be taking photographs of degree candidates and will contact each graduate directly. You may also contact Grad Images by calling 1-800-261-2576 or by visiting their website. We invite family and friends to feel free to use cameras from their seats.
Live Streaming of the Bumpers College Ceremony
For family and guests who are unable to attend the ceremony, live streaming will be available on the day of the ceremony on the University of Arkansas YouTube Channel.
Parking
Information on parking and a parking map are located on the University of Arkansas’ Commencement Web page. Public parking areas are designated in purple on the map. The specific street address to enter for GPS directions to Barnhill Arena is 1295 S. Razorback Road, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
Persons with Mobility Impairments
Graduates or guests with mobility impairment may be DROPPED OFF by turning off Meadow Street between the HPER Building and Meadow Street Parking Garage (MSPG) and driving toward the south entrance of Barnhill Arena. Pull forward and around to the NORTH side of Barnhill Arena to the disabled drop off location. Upon drop off, suggested public parking is available in the Stadium Drive Garage (Union Parking Deck), Lots 44, 72, 73, and 73A (West of Reynolds Stadium and the practice facilities off Razorback Road). No disabled drop off is available on the Stadium Drive entrance.
Parking for those who have handicapped hang tags or license plates for their vehicles will park in Lots 45A or 45B.
LIMITED special seating will be available at court level. Each disabled guest can be accompanied by only one additional guest—all other guests in the party will need to sit in guest seating indicated above. Barnhill does not have an elevator, so all persons with mobility impairment should plan to enter on the NORTH side of Barnhill Arena.
