Ag, Food, Life Bus Tour

ag food life bus tour graphicWould you like to know more about the industry opportunities available close to you as a Bumpers College student? As part of the new student experience initiative in our college, we've created a bus tour to several major businesses, companies and organizations around the state that will allow students to get a personal view of those operations and visit with leaders, executives and decision makers.

The chartered bus trip is Monday-Tuesday, May 11-12, departing from and returning to the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center.

Freshmen and sophomores across all majors and concentrations are invited to register for the two-day trip featuring stops related to agriculture, human environmental sciences, government and policy, and advocacy. Spots are open for 40 freshmen and sophomores, who will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

Industry connections on this tour include:

  • Heifer International Village
  • Dillard's, Inc.
  • Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality
  • Arkansas Hospitality Association
  • Arkansas State Capitol
  • Arkansas State Extension Office
  • U of A System Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service
  • Arkansas Farm Bureau
  • Post Familie Winery

This itinerary is tentative and more stops may be added before the trip date.

Interested students, faculty and staff are asked to pick up registration materials in the Student Services Office (AFLS E-202) before March 13. All associated fees are covered by the college - transportation, meals, snacks and lodging.
