Bodie Cotter

Crop, Soil and Environmental Sciences

Why did you choose your major?

I chose my major to take an active role in agriculture. I grew up fully involved in Arkansas agriculture and wanted to continue this during and after college.

What are you hoping to do with it?

I hope to work in the industry one day for a crop chemical or seed company.

How do you stay involved with your department?

I stay involved with the department by going to events and help out with prospective student tours.

What is your favorite class and/or professor?

My favorite class currently is Soil Fertility taught by Dr. Roberts.

How are you an engaged U of A student outside of the classroom?

I stay involved in various clubs and organizations around campus, as well as, being involved with the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

What is your favorite thing about Bumpers College?

My favorite thing about Bumpers College is the fact that it is so easy to approach professors and that they are always there to help and assist you.

Why did you want to be an ambassador?

I felt I could use my ability to communicate with others to help promote the college and the agriculture industry.

What is your advice for an incoming freshman?

My main piece of advice would be to tell them to get as involved as possible. College is so much more fun when you can connect with a friend group and those connections will hopefully help you down the road.
