1. Wanted: Bumpers College Ambassadors
The Dean's Office is accepting applications for the 2008-2009 Bumpers College Student Ambassador Program. If you have an interest in representing the Bumpers College to prospective students, parents, and alumni; hosting activities like Dogs with the Dean and Carnival of Clubs; meeting students from across the nation; and expanding your leadership abilities, then the Bumpers College wants you to apply to be a member of the Bumpers College Ambassadors. The application is available on-line at http://bumperscollege.uark.edu/341.htm. The application deadline is March 12.

2. Farm Policy Analyst to Speak on Organic Issues
Mark Kastel of The Cornucopia Institute will present "Who Owns Organic?" at 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 10, in room 339 of the Leflar Law Center at the University of Arkansas. Kastel will speak about issues in organic agriculture and will conclude his presentation with a question and answer session. The event is free and open to the public.

3. CSES Seminar March 10 at the University of Arkansas
Michelle McDonald will present "Poultry Litter History Effects on Arsenic Adsorption to Soil" and Ryan Stoner will present "Long-Term Variation in Sediment Phosphorus Below a Rural Effluent Discharge" at 3:30 p.m. Monday, March 10, in PTSC 009.

4. Food Science Seminar March 10
John Dickerson, associate director of food technology and material development-snacks, coffee, and petcare, Proctor and Gamble, Lewisberg, Ohio will present a seminar titled "Research and Development in the Pet Food Industry" at 3:40 p.m. Monday, March 10, in room D-2 of the FDSC building. 5. Career Planning for Women Students
The UA Career Development Center will present "What it Takes: Pursuing Your Passion, Planning Your Success," by Elise Mitchell, of Mitchell Communications Group, Fayetteville, March 31, 5 - 6 p.m. at the University House. Did you know that as a potential or current University of Arkansas student you may be eligible for scholarships through the University and other affiliated agencies? Be sure to review the Separate Applications at http://bumperscollege.uark.edu/39.htm and the Office of Academic Scholarships Website at http://scholarships.uark.edu/index.php/home/default for more information. These scholarships require separate applications, and the Bumpers Scholarship Application does NOT make you eligible for these awards. Deadlines range from February 1, 2008, through April 15, 2008. Many of these awards have little competition because students overlook their availability, so it is to your advantage to apply.
