Dr. Julia Harriett McCoy, 1943-2006
Dr. Julia Harriett McCoy, professor emeritus of Human Nutrition, died Nov. 27 at home in Fayetteville.
Dr. McCoy was a native of Jennings, La. She had B.S. and M.S. degrees from Louisiana State University and a Ph.D. in human nutrition from Iowa State University. She was on the Home Economics Department faculty from 1973 to 2002 as a human nutrition teacher, advisor and research scientist. Her research included studies of nutrition and bone formation and the nutritional health of young girls in the South.
