Gamma Sigma Delta presents faculty, student awards

Gamma Sigma Delta, the honor society of agricultural, initiated new members and presented awards to faculty and students at its annual Awards and Initiation Banquet April 12 in the Whitaker Animal Science Center.

Teaching Award of Merit: Jennie Popp, Agricultural Economics and  Agribusiness

Research Award of Merit: Michael Thomsen, Agricultural Economics and  Agribusiness

Gamma Sigma Delta Scholarship: Sandra Popova, Agricultural Business.

Lippert Ellis Scholarship: Holly Minard, Animal Science.

John W. White Scholarship: Laura Sossamon, Agricultural Business.

Winners of the Feb. 27 student research competition received awards of $100, $75 and $50 in each category for posters or oral presentations.

Oral Presentation:

Ph.D. first, second and third place, respectively: Sam Markell, Maria Rosso and Vinod Shivrain.

Master's first, second and third place, respectively: Juan Monge, Stephen O'Brien and Michael Olivera.

Undergraduate first second and third place, respectively: Lindsay Starkey, Christina Pope and Brittany Adams.
