College Hosts Gifted & Talented Students
Bumpers College faculty hosted rising 8th, 9th and 10th graders participating in the University of Arkansas Summer Institute for Gifted and Talented Scholars. Eighty-two academically advanced students were on campus for three weeks of fun yet rigorous coursework.
The institute is designed for intellectually gifted students who are interested in programs that are academically challenging, exciting and fast-paced.
Participants choose one of nine courses in mathematics, sciences, business and fine arts.
Classes included plant breeding and genetics, food science, equine sciences, apparel studies, interior design, statistics, and entomology.
Participating faculty members were Jefferson Miller, Robert Wiedenmann, Ken Korth, Andy Mauromoustakos, Cat Walker, Haroon Sattar, Laurie Apple, Lona Robertson, Nancy Jack, Vibha Srivastava, John Clark and Phil Crandall.
