On Top of the Hill. Horticulture Display Gardens and Rosen Center occupy the pinnacle of University Heights.

Development Momentum Continues. Gifts for last fiscal year totaled $13,943,420 for the Division of Agriculture and Bumpers College.

Division Co-Sponsors Biomass Workshop. Leaders of Arkansas firms producing biofuels to discuss future development of biomass resources with university experts, legislators and interested citizens.

Division Forms Biofuels Task Force. To identify opportunities to increase and leverage resources and faculty to advance biomass and biofuels research and development.

US, EU Exchange Students and Faculty. Two positions open for students to study abroad in “Renewable Resources and Clean Technology Program."

Balkan Students Excel in Bumpers College. UA has enrolled 17 transfer students from Demitris Perrotis College, and more are coming this fall.

Preston La Ferney Retires. Greek connection was recent highlight of distinguished career.

Bob Riggs Retires. National authority on soybean cyst nematode races and management.

Nolan Arthur Retires. First head of Department of Agricultural and Extension Education.

Graduate Course for HS Teachers. High school and Extension faculty sharpen skills in three-week course.

Delta Classic Raises $35,000. Seventh annual tournament draws 120 players representing 30 companies.

Barham Endows Scholarship Fund. UA alumnus developed important onion and watermelon varieties.

Wall Street Journal Discovers Arkansas Berries. Article reports on "sweet fruit” marketing strategy that includes UA blackberry varieties.

Tailgate Party set for Alabama Game. For alumni, friends, faculty and staff Sept. 23.

Cattle Conference and Marketing Symposium. Experts focus on beef marketing.

Field Days for Crops, Forestry, Wildlife. At Rohwer, Stuttgart, Pine Tree, Marianna, Hope and Judd Hill.

College Hosts 4-H O-Rama. Youth compete and elect state officers and leaders.

Vegetable Field Day. Day for gardeners well attended.

Jake Phillips, 1930-2006. Entomology professor emeritus pioneered community insect pest management in cotton.

H. Don Scott, 1944-2006. Former UA soil scientist directed Agribusiness Center at Mount Olive College.

Darell Widick, 1942-2006. Division soybean breeder based at ASU focused on low-yield environments.

ACT Group Tours Scotland. Ray Barclay and Jeff Miller lead students in 10-day study tour.

Hospitality Course at Basin Park Hotel. Unique course designed by Allen Powell provides hands-on training.

Apparel Students Visit NYC. Students tour fashion industry headquarters and operations.

BAEG Designs in Top Three. Students design football helmet that monitors body heat and kid-friendly tube feeding system. 

Rogers Creek Trail Dedicated. Division faculty and student participated in project.

College Hosts Kauffman Scholars. Eighth-graders experience college life and class work.

College Hosts Gifted & Talented. High school students sample UA courses.

Technology Classrooms Ready for Fall. Training available for instructors.

Carnall Hall Centennial Finale Set. Includes auction to add to Ella Carnall Scholarship Fund for Restaurant and Hospitality concentration.
