Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station, University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture A newsletter for faculty, staff and students July-August 2005 Vol. 31, No. 4 Volunteers lead campaign for Division and College Volunteers from agriculture, industry and commerce led the drive by the Division of Agriculture and Bumpers College in the Campaign for the Twenty-First Century.
Co-chairs of the committee were Leland Tollett of Rogers, former chairman and CEO of Tyson Foods, and Stanley Reed of Marianna, a farmer, President of Arkansas Farm Bureau and member of the UA Board of Trustees. Other members were: Sherman Cullum of Hickory Ridge, former president of Cullum Seeds. Tommy Hillman of Carlisle, a farmer, former chairman of the board of Riceland Foods and former President and CEO of Winrock Farms. Robert L. “Bob” McGinnis of West Memphis, a farmer and member of the Arkansas Legislature from 1979-1999. Montine McNulty of Pine Bluff, executive director of the Arkansas Hospitality Association. Don Pattillo of Stuttgart, president and CEO of Farmers and Merchants Bank of Stuttgart Ned Ray Purtle of Hope, a rancher, and former member of the UA Board of Trustees. Mark Simmons of Siloam Springs, chairman of Simmons Foods, Inc. Neill Sloan of Lake Village, a farmer, vice president of GPS Bonded Warehouse and member of the Arkansas Natural Heritage Commission. Director of Development for the Division of Agriculture is Chuck Culver. Director of Development for the Cooperative Extension Service is Dr. Stephen Schafer. Director of Development for Bumpers College is Mark Power.
