HELENA --- Students majoring in crop management and in environmental, soil and water sciences will have more scholarship opportunities thanks to participants in the fifth annual Delta Classic Scholarship Golf Tournament July 16 at the Helena Country Club.

SECOND FLIGHT WINNERS - The Farm Bureau team of, from left, Bruce Tencleve, Gene Martin, Steve Eddington, and Ewell Welch, all of Little Rock, won the second flight of the Delta Classic July 16 at Helena Country Club.

The tournament raised more than $23,000 to fund scholarships for students in the Department of Crop, Soil, and Environmental Sciences in the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences at the U of A, said department head Dr. Jim Barrentine. Twenty-three students have already received scholarships from the fund, he said.

Over 124 players representing 31 companies participated in the four-player scramble. Prizes were awarded to the top teams and to the closest to the pin, highest score, longest drive and longest putt.
