‘Renewable Resources’ student exchange program
Seniors or graduate students can receive financial support for a research and study program in Europe in the transatlantic “Renewable Resources and Clean Technology Program" funded by federal education agencies in the United States and European Union.
Dr. Andy Proctor, Food Science, University of Arkansas coordinator for the program, will give a seminar about the program on Monday, Feb. 5, at 3:40 p.m. in FDSC D-1. In addition, students who have participated in the program will talk about their experiences.
Participants take classes and conduct research at European universities on the use of renewable biomaterials as biofuels, plastic alternatives and other products. The program includes financial support and language training for students.
The U of A is leading the United States consortium that includes Iowa State University and the University of Washington. European Union partners are the University of Gent in Belgium, the University of Graz in Austria and Toulouse Polytechnic University in France.
The exchange program provides opportunities for faculty and students to be involved in biorenewable materials and clean technology research at leading European institutions.
