By Gary Zellar and Nancy Wyatt 1999. AAES Special Report 194. Richly illustrated with black and white photos, this history unabashedly portrays the personalities and times that decided the course of the College in the late 19th century and through the 20th century. It presents the evolution of the College from the signing of the Morrill Land-Grant College Act in 1862, through the years preceding establishment of the College in 1905, and into the 1990s. Names of graduates from 1905 to 1999 are listed.
By Stephen F. Strausberg 1989. AAES Special Report 136. This history begins with a vivid account of the personalities and the political, social and economic forces involved in creating the national system of state agricultural experiment stations — specifically the one in Arkansas. It continues with an account of how the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station was developed over its first century. Details are provided on how research programs helped Arkansas farmers and others solve the problems and take advantage of the opportunities of their times.
