"I am really excited about being a member of the Division's development team," Royal said. She will remain on campus and coordinate her efforts for CES development programs with Chuck Culver and Mark Power, development directors for the Division and Bumpers College, respectively.

The position Royal is leaving, "has given me the opportunity to comprehend the full scope of the Division and how it benefits Arkansans," Royal said. "I am very appreciative and feel that it has helped prepare me for my new job."

Fowler is a native of Colts Neck, N.J., and has a B.S. degree in business from American Sentinel University in Englewood, Colo. The survey, conducted by Alice Griffin, Bumpers College coordinator for advising and retention, provided insight into the immediate plans of 179 students surveyed out of the 187 who participated in Commencement.

Of those surveyed, 120 (85 %) either planned to start jobs (94) or attend graduate school (59), and seven of those planning to pursue advanced degrees also said they had jobs line up, Griffin says.

The 59 students planning to pursue advanced degrees included four enrolled in schools of veterinary medicine, seven accepted to medical or dental schools, and four going to law school.

The Class of 2006 is one of the largest in recent years, with 245 graduates who completed bachelor's degree requirements in May 2006 and in August and December of 2005. Some of the students who participated in the May 13 Commencement the Pauline Whitaker Animal Science Center still had courses to complete before receiving their degrees.

In addition to bachelor's degrees awarded, 99 students received M.S. degrees and 33 received Ph.D. degrees after completing a course of study and research under the direction of Bumpers College faculty members.
