1) Review and Approval of Minutes from October 9, 2008
Minutes from the October 9, 2008 meeting had been distributed via email to all committee members. Hearing no requests for changes, Kathy Smith moved that the minutes be approved as written. Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous to approve the minutes as written.

2) Review and Approve Agenda
Laurie Apple asked if there were any changes to be made to the agenda, which had been distributed to the committee members via email. It was requested that HESC 5223 be moved to the "New Business" section, as this was not an old business item. As Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg needed to leave early, due to a meeting with a candidate, she requested that her items of business be presented first. Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg moved that the agenda be accepted, with the requested changes noted. Susan Takigiku seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous to approve the agenda, as revised.

3) New Business
a) Food, Human Nutrition, and Dietetics – 1st & 2nd reading – Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg distributed the Add, Change or Delete form for HESC 5223 to the committee. Tim Killian moved to accept the presented materials as 1st and 2nd readings. Susan Takigiku seconded the motion. The committee discussed the materials at this point. It was noted that the contact hours should be "3". A suggestion was made to change the wording to "Lecture 3 hours per week for on-campus course. Web-based delivery is offered." Donna Graham asked who would be responsible for putting this class on the web. Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg stated that Cindy Moore would be responsible for this task. Mary Warnock confirmed that this course will be offered in the web-based format. No further changes were requested. The vote was unanimous to accept the materials presented, for a 1st and 2nd reading, with the requested changes to be included.
At this point, Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg excused herself from the meeting and the meeting was adjourned at 2:20 p.m., due to a lack of quorum. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 30, at 2:00 p.m.
