Alumni Gather for Bumpers College Tailgate Before Auburn Game
More than 200 alumni and friends attended the Bumpers College Alumni Society Tailgate Party before the Arkansas-Auburn game Oct. 8. More than $4,000 was raised for the Bumpers College Alumni Society Scholarship Fund and alumni activities.
"These are record numbers for the Alumni Tailgate," said Trina Holman, Bumpers College Alumni liaison. "We had a huge number of people working on this and we were really able to take it up a notch."
The tailgate party included a dunk tank in which Dean Michael Vayda offered himself up to raise money for scholarships. It also featured live music by faculty members Walter Bottje and Harrison Pittman, food catered by Flying Burrito and fun activities for children.
Sponsorships by Arkansas Rice Federation and White Commercial Corporation along with in-kind donations by Tyson Foods, Inc. helped make the event possible.
