Faculty Present: D. Johnson, Chair, C. Rosenkrans, H. Brown (ANSC), Jennifer Webb (HESC), Luke Howard, John Clark, Fred Stephen, Freddie Scott (AEED), Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenburg, Park Waldroup, Gene Milus.

G. Weidemann – Administration
1. Call to Order – D. Johnson, Chair, called the meeting to order at 2:30 p.m.
2. Agenda – P. Waldroup moved to approve the agenda. John Clark seconded. Motion was approved.
3. Approval of Minutes - The minutes of the April 2006 meeting of the Faculty Council were presented for approval. H. Brown made motion to approve the minutes. P. Waldroup seconded the motion. Motion was approved.
4. Reports
A. G. Weidemann – Administration
- Eleventh day enrollment has not yet been seen. It looks as thought we are up about 50 undergraduates at this time.
B. Graduate Council Report – No report
C. Faculty Senate – C. Rosenkrans
C. Faculty Senate – C. Rosenkrans
- C. Rosenkrans reported that Faculty Senate had not yet met this year.
D. Ad hoc committee on non-tenure-track hiring practice
- Discussion with the Vice President Shult was held earlier this summer. Vice President will appoint a committee to look at Tenure Track Hiring Plan.
- Faculty council has offered to appoint members to a committee, Vice President has not yet responded.
A. Freddie Scott, Agriculture subcommittee – Freddie Scott
- Food Science has a new on-line course. FDSC 2523 “Food Safety and Sanitation”. The subcommittee has approved and Dr. Scott moved that the Faculty Council approve it as well. There was no discussion and the motion was approved.
- Dr. Scott made a motion to approve a Request for Special Topics Class “Companion Animal Nutrition”. There was no discussion and motion passed.
- Three new Grad courses were approved. GRSD 5003 “Professor’s role in Higher Education”, GRSD 5001 “Introduction to Preparing Future Faculty”. And SPAC “ Special Space Planetary Science”
B. Marjorie Fitch-Hilgenberg, Human Environmental Sciences Subcommittee
- HESC will be raising the leave of HESC 2623 to 3623 and it will now be cross listed and taught in the fall and not spring. Motion to accept this change was made and approved.
7. New Business - None
8. Inquiries from the Faculty
- John Clark inquires as if the college was going back to the system it had twenty years ago and thanked the Dean for all his work in the many positions he has held over the years.
10. Meeting Adjourned – P. Waldroup moved to adjourn. H. Brown seconded the motion.
