Pro and con discussion of issues
Discussion of biological, social, and agricultural sciences issues
Develop effective reasoning and discussion techniques

Personality patterns as related to individual and group interactions
Interpersonal communication skills

Develop basic skills in trend identification and strategic planning for career development
Create vision and mission statements for professional goals

• AFLS 3412H Project Proposal Development
2 credit hours, Spring 1st and 2nd 5 week sessions
Learn about sources and types of grants
Strategies to prepare a successful grant proposal. Students are required to complete both sections during the same semester.

• AFLS 3313H Global Issues in AFLS
3 hours credit, Spring full semester
Opportunity to study international aspects of topics related to Honors Thesis work
10-day Study Tour required

• AFLS 3512H Rotations in Agric. Laboratory Research
2 credit hours, Spring full semester
Laboratory research techniques in immunology, virology, plant molecular biology, and parasitology
Students use information gained to conduct research projects

• AFLS 400vH (1 to 6) Honors Thesis
Variable credit, 6 credit hours required to graduate, Fall, Spring, Summer full semesters
Select mentor and Honors Thesis committee
Research/Creative endeavor proposal
Conduct research or creative endeavor
Write and defend Honors Thesis. Do not sign up for last Honors Thesis credit hour until the semester when you will defend and complete your Honors Thesis.
