Bumpers College's Spring 2013 commencement was May 11 in Barnhill Arena. Ted Dorn, recipient of the Outstanding Alumni Award and co-president of three Simmons Foods Inc. affiliates (Simmons Feed Ingredients, PRO*CAL and Sensora LLC) delivered the commencement address.
The lecture, titled "Business and Society in the Next Decade," was delivered on March 3, 2015, at the University of Arkansas.

The lecture, titled “Size Matters –Why We Love to Hate ‘Big Food’ and Why Sustainable Intensification May be Key to Survival,” focused on sustainability in the food chain and the need for an increase in food production. His visit took place Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Poultry Science Auditorium of the John W. Tyson Building. “Food for Thought” is a Bumpers College Honors Student Board lecture series.
The lecture, titled “Partnering with the Private Sector: A New Model of Development,” was set for 11:50 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, in the first-floor auditorium of the Donald W. Reynolds Center for Enterprise Development on campus.
Sen. John Boozman of Arkansas delivered the Food for Thought lecture on April 5, 2013, at Old Main's Giffels Auditorium at the University of Arkansas.
Patricia Woertz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Archer Daniels Midland Co., delivered the Dale & Betty Bumpers Distinguished Lecture on March 31, 2015, at the University of Arkansas. The lecture was presented by the UA Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences and was co-sponsored by the J. William Fulbright College of Arts and Sciences and the Sam M. Walton College of Business.
Global food security consultant and the former president of Heifer International Jo Luck visited with students, faculty and staff on April 3, 2014 in Old Main’s Giffels Auditorium at the University of Arkansas. The lecture is an annual presentation of the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences. It focuses on the international prominence of Arkansas agriculture and food industries; the importance of environmental stewardship and sustainability for the strength and vibrancy of our economy; and the quality of life as championed by Betty Bumpers on behalf of child wellness, human development and healthy living choices.
Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack delivered his lecture on April 23, 2013, at the Leflar Law Center at the University of Arkansas. The Dale and Betty Bumpers Distinguished Lecture Program is an annual presentation of the university's Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
On April 15, 2012, President Bill Clinton, founder of the William J. Clinton Foundation and 42nd president of the United States, addressed students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends of the University of Arkansas. He was the inaugural speaker of the Dale and Betty Bumpers Distinguished Lecture Program sponsored by the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.
