Bumpers College Scholarship Application

Note: The deadline to apply for the 2008-2009 academic year was February 15th, 2008.  Most scholarship award notices were mailed no later than May 1, 2008; however, due to circumstances beyond our control, a small number of awards have NOT yet been made.  We are working to make the remainder of our awards as soon as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Animal Science Scholarships

Name of Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
Animal Science Gen'l ANSC majors - (department sets selection criteria)
Arena Chair Scholars ANSC majors - Fr, So, Jr, Sr; must make a 2.75 in fall to receive the spring half of the annual scholarship (if full year amount is awarded in fall then the gpa needs to be checked by January 5th)
Arkansas Cattlemen's Assn ANSC majors - Preference given to students involved in Cattleman's Association, also preferred involvement in FFA or 4-H
Arkansas St Federation of Farm Credit Stockholders ANSC major - Fr, So, Jr, Sr; have high academics
Beefmasters ANSC major - No other information
Brangus ANSC major prefer students with interest working in beef cattle industry.
Brown, C. J. ANSC major; So, Jr, Sr; 3.0 cum GPA; renewable prefer interest in beef cattle breeding and production; consideration given to difficulty of courses, leadership ability; involvement and moral character
Felsman, Robert ANSC majors - interest in beef cattle or swine; 3.0 in major courses; financial need to be considered; demonstrate desire to work in animal science field
Ft. Smith Kennel Club ANSC pre vet major with interest in small animals; all levels
Fulton, Richard and Ann Given as an award to recognize outstanding academic student in ANSC. Sophomore level or higher. Preference given to students studying pre-vet.
Hudson Family Scholarship Awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in animal science and planning a career in the beef cattle industry
King Foundation, Carl B. & Florence E. King Pre-Veterinarian ANSC Pre Vet scholarships - So, Jr, Sr; at least a 3.0 cum GPA; enroll in less than 15 hours per semester. Renewable with met criteria. *Letter must go to Ms. Michelle Monse each semester letting her know students grades, backgrounds, if they are renewing.
King, Florence - in Equine ANSC Equine interest - Dr. Nancy Jack assists with selection of nominees; 3.2 gpa, 15 hrs per semester; correspond with King Foundation each semester; $2,500 scholarship & $4,000 in hourly earnings per year-award one semester at a time
Lewis, May S. & Paul K. ANSC major - all levels of undergrads; 3.0 cumulative GPA for current students; incoming freshmen must have a high GPA and at least a 24 ACT; enrolled full time; one scholarship for tuition & fees
Metz, Danny ANSC major - So or Jr; interest in swine; enrolled in at least 12 hours; academics, leadership, work ethics, professional potential to be considered
Neumann, A. L. & Lorena ANSC major - undergrad transfer student with a 3.25 GPA &/or graduate student with a 3.5 GPA who are interested in livestock production; enrolled in at least 12 hours per sem; one semester in Animal Science before award
Noland, Paul R. ANSC major - Jr or Sr with interest in swine; must be enrolled in at least 12 hours per semester; academics, work ethic, leadership ability and professional potential. Arkansas resident
Perkins, Jack ANSC - Incoming freshmen & seniors with at least a 3.0 cum GPA or So or Jr with at least a 2.5 cum GPA; prefer judging team member; renewable for 1 year with met criteria
Purtle, Ned Preference to an undergraduate transfer student who has demonstrated a high probably of academic success, leadership skills in support of the beef industry and who will be an active participant on the Livestock Judging team.

Southwest Meats Awarded to an undergraduate student with good academics and potential to become a leader in the meats industry
Stallcup, O. T. ANSC major - 3.0 GPA for incoming freshmen and seniors; 2.5 GPA for sophomores & juniors; can be renewed
